Play your cards -- as many and as fast as you can -- into a common arena. To win, you must play faster and more aggressively than your opponents. Perpetual Commotion is one part strategy, two parts speed, and a healthy dose of luck-of-the-draw. It's a heads-up, quick hand free-for-all, as opponents race to play the same cards, at the same time, on the same freshly opened spot. Perpetual Commotion is as honest a name as anything. For those of you who have played Dutch Blitz you have some idea of what goes on here, but there are fantastic distinctions between the two games. Perpetual Commotion allows up to six players with its base set and the possibility of up to eight with the black and white expansion set. Dutch Blitz only allows four players. I've played four players with Dutch Blitz and it can be chaotic. I've played six players with Perpetual Commotion and chaos does not attempt to describe the sheer pandemonium that ensues. Perpetual Commotion is not played in turns; it plays all at once. There is card slapping, yelling, card crinkling fun in every hand. And if that is not enough for you, there is an eight-sided die that will possibly change the way each and every hand is scored. Odd screeches and hoots will pour from players mouths as they try to beat other players’ cards to the piles. And in the end Perpetual Commotion could drive you insane, but it’s worth it!
